When you interact with AskAnyone, we may store the following data:
DM content — messages sent to your connected Instagram or Facebook Messenger account
Sender identifiers — Meta user IDs used for conversation threading and reply delivery
Semantic message representations — derived from message text and used for pattern analysis and analytics
Instagram and Facebook Page access tokens — tokens used to send replies via Meta's API, stored securely on the server
2. How to Request Deletion
You can delete your data in three ways:
Via the admin dashboard — go to the Account tab and click Disconnect. Your access tokens are deleted immediately. Message history is retained for up to 30 days to allow final review, then permanently deleted.
Via Instagram or Facebook settings — remove AskAnyone from your connected apps (see section 4). This revokes access and triggers the same 30-day deletion process.
By email — send a request to privacy@openmined.org with your Instagram username or Facebook Page name. We will complete deletion within 30 days.
3. What Happens After a Deletion Request
Once a deletion request is received or triggered:
All stored access tokens for your account are revoked and deleted immediately
All message data (DM content, conversation history, derived representations) associated with your account will be permanently deleted within 30 days
Aggregated, anonymised analytics data may be retained, as it cannot be linked back to individual accounts
If your deletion was triggered automatically via Meta, you can check its status at: /data-deletion?id=<your confirmation code>
4. Revoking Access via Instagram or Facebook
You can revoke AskAnyone's access to your Instagram or Facebook account at any time:
Instagram: Go to Settings > Apps and Websites and remove AskAnyone
Facebook Page: Go to Meta Business Suite > Settings > Business Integrations and remove AskAnyone
Alternatively, disconnect via the AskAnyone admin dashboard under the Account tab
Revoking access immediately deletes your stored access tokens and begins the 30-day deletion process for message history.
